Shrink Plastic

Hello does any one know anywhere to buy shrink plastic to go to england or Cyprus Happy?

There are a couple UK online retailers (not sure about Cyprus), that sell shrink plastic.

By the way, these aren't ones I've used they're just doing a quick search on google.

I don't have many craft shops near to me so I wouldn't know about any high street shops sorry.

Have you tried QVC (www.qvcuk.com) or Create and Craft (www.createandcraft.tv)?
You can probably get it on eBay also.

I think over here the main brand is called Shrink Art if that helps! If there is a Hobbycraft near you, you can get it there.

Ruby you can watch Create and Craft on channel 671 (Sky). I used to but spent more time shouting at the telly than taking notice of what they were doing=)

@Laurel ~ Don't have sky Happy but if you only shouted at it, I think I might give it a miss haha :p

Can someone please tell me if you can put shrink plastic through the printer?

Not the regular kind but you can buy inkjet shrink plastic.

Create and craft is on freeview and virgin etc but I don't know the channel numbers, it'll be with the other shopping channels I guess. It is insanely irritating though=)

Oh ok, thanks Laurel. Do you know why you can't print on the normal stuff? Will it stop it from shrinking properly or something? Sorry if I'm bombarding with questions, you seem like you know what you're talking about Happy

It wont hold the ink. As soon as you touch it the ink will just smudge and come off on your hands.
I'm thinking of trying the inkjet stuff, I've seen some awesome jewellery made with it=)

You can also use #6 recycled plastic. I save all my take out container lids.. but make sure it is #6 with the little recycle symbol.. it works the exact same as the store bought stuff.

I use inkjet shrink plastic a lot, the results are usually great.

I think you can use ordinary shrink plastic with an inkjet printer if you go over the surface of it with sandpaper, but I've never tried that myself.

You have to sand shrink plastic anyway, I've found that even then it doesn't hold a lot of inks, even staz on. It can be really frustrating.
