Alice costume :D

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i could go about making an alice in wonderland costume for my schools athletics day. i realise that i could just make myself a blue dress and apron but i want it to be a bit more awesome than that. i was thinking a black and blue tutu with a black apron-ish thing?? i dont know really but if anyone could suggest something or point me in the direction of a how-to it would be much appreciated.

OOooo I do love a good Alice in Wonderland costume. Last halloween, I actually made my friend an Alice costume (though that was just a simple blue dress and apron as you said.) My bf went as the mad hatter though and he went totally overboard with a strait jacket and a foot tall hat (and he's bloody tall already!!) If you want fancy accesories then maybe carry around a toy flamingo or something, like you're about to play some croquet. And you should check on the how-to's on this site for making 'Drink Me' pendants etc. because loads of people have put good ones on here. I hope this helps Happy

If you want a more creepy alice, just make things a bit darker and such, like in American McGee's Alice (which is a completey kick-ass computer game). It just the simple blue dress and apron, but its more tattered and worn looking.

yea ive had alook at the drink me pendants and im DEFINATLY going to make one of those Happy. I REALLY dont want to make a blue dress and white apron, unless it was in a majorly harajuku-japanese-lolitaish way. i will probably make separates though as on athletics day it gets majorly hot and theres no shade at all . . . OOO brain wave Happy (dont you just love those) ill decorate a parasol!!! mebe with matching lace (black or white im not sure yet) but if anyones had experience making a similar costume or even cosplay-costume any advice would be a BIG help.
