My mummy cat was killed by a neighbours dog when her 4 kittens were 4 weeks old. I hand fed them 4 times a day with Shirley's powder formula from a small bottle. After each feed I used warm water on kitchen roll to get them to wee. Best to lay furry friend on it's back in a towel as it's more comfortable for them. They didn't start pooping too much till I started them on more solid food. when they were eating a little I took one bottle feed out. At about 5 weeks I introduced them to the cat litter tray just after I had bottle fed them. I put them in the tray and held onto the front paws and moved them like they were scratching at it. Then held them in the tray and wipe their bum with a bit of wet tissue. They were the youngest kittens I've ever had that were litter trained.
If your furry friend has been bottle fed you may have some problems weaning it onto drinking from a bowl. I mixed some of the formula, put it in a bowl, dipped my finger in so they would lick it from my finger. Then I dipped my finger again, they followed it and I put my finger into the milk, they licked it and I moved my finger away so they drank the milk. It takes time but cats get it eventually. When they had started eating properly I gave them a little formula watered down till they were about 8-10 weeks old.
They could use cat litter & eat before they could drink from a bowl because mummy cat would have tought them that and she wasn't there. You have to teach them to be cats......lol
They all survived and I kept 2. One of which still likes to suckle on a fluffy teddy I have at the bottom of my bed. She's nearly 2 year old now!

Hope this helps Happy

Northernstar....thanks....I'm lovinly known as 'mummy cat ' now by my family. They still snuggle up to my towelling house coat which I wore when feeding them. They've laernt to be cats but still have a few strange ways. It was hard work but worth it. Must post a video of them feeding. Their little ears wobbled Happy
