Winter Solstice
Today is the shortest day of the year I found a video you can watch from today's solstice in Ireland. It is at the Neolithic site of Newgrange, which was built 5000yrs ago. In the passage inside Newgrange at the time of sunrise you can see the suns rays come in and light up the passage. The tomb was purpose built for this. It's quite beautiful.
Here is the link if you would like to watch.

Thankyou! I also hope it's the coldest day of the year and that it only gets warmer from here.
I wouldn't mind if it was snow but it isn't. It's just freezing cold fog and my ears nearly fell off.
I wrapped up very warm in my scarf but it's made of genuine wool and therefore smells like I'm smothering myself with a sheep, and when i breathe into it, the breath goes back into my dace and my glasses steam up and then i trip over out of place paving slabs and things
God bless winter.
haha Roma, today is not so cold here in ICELAND!! my dad in Ireland told me it was 5c there and frosty! Here it is 7 and wet It better snow and get colder or else...
Watched the solstice this morning on the heritage site. Certainly perfect weather for it anyway.
God I'd love to live in Iceland. Isn't it really expensive to live over there? I was considering a holiday in someone told me that a loaf of bread would set me back about £4. Not the kind of holiday you should be taking when saving up for uni, then.
Iceland according to a recent survey is the most expensive place in the world, bread is 245kr which is 1.94pounds
My folks are coming for a week tomorrow and we have just spent so much money on food and stuff, it is very expensive for a holiday lol
Solstice drumming tomorrow in Prospect Park. Iceland is more expensive than New York. Yee goddess!
Yes, I ask myself "why am I here?" A LOT!! hahaha
