Has anyone watched Slum Dog Millionaire?
i havent..but i heard its a GREATT movie..
so anyone recommand it?

i saw slumdog a coupla weeks ago & it is good but i didnt think it was amazing, possibly just coz of all the hype but well worth a watch (great ending)

I am always wary when a film has so much hype, as I usually find that spoils the film for me, or they are not as good as the hype.. but I thought the film was brilliant. It's worth staying until the end.

my husband really wanted to see it, but I was just going along and hadn't really heard anything about it, but he did and I think it was a let down for him because of it. I was expecting to not like it from what I had seen in previews, so I thought it was okay coming out. that's how I try to go into movies now so I'm never disappointed ;)

You know I usually try to avoid the overly hyped stuff. I avoided Titanic for well over a year, until it became too much and it had invaded the whole world, so I rented it and hated every bloody minute of it.
I am not sure to this day if I hated it only BECAUSE of the hype, or if I truly hated it.

I think, if the film is an honestly good film, it can withstand good or bad hype. For me Slumdog was a great film, even with all this silly hype.

Titanic may not be amazing, but it is a must-see!
Slumdog millionaire, however, is not really a must-see but just a good film.
Whether it has hype or not shouldn't affect how good a film it is, but i was wary too, and came out of the cinema amazed.
And about the awards, i think that compared to movies in general coming out now, it was so good that it deserved all those awards, but as a movie, maybe not. Basically, the hype is because the films coming out now are mostly vapid and pointless, so as soon as a good film comes out everyone pounces on it. All in all, i do recommend it if only because you shouldn't let hype affect your view of the film
