im getting a lot of Nightmare Before Christmas and Batman stuff XD
we are so alike, Michelle! my goal has been to get it all done BEFORE Thanksgiving (almost never happens ) but I'm making so many things this year... and I really should have started a lot sooner, whoops... we'll see if I can manage half in a few weeks.
I've been experimenting with melting beads so I can make a glowing artpiece for my mother-in-law. I'm basing it off of this:

(the image isn't showing up, you'll hafta copy and paste )
my husband is going to help me come up with a lighted, two-way frame to mount it in so she can hang it in her window for the sun during the day, but at night she can turn the light on and have a nifty little window, night light, arty thing. I really hope it turns out alright. all my tests so far have come out okay, and I think I've decided how I want to do it now, but I haven't done anything big yet so hopefully it's a not a big mess 'cause I don't have a plan B!
I've already posted the journal I made for my sister-in-law... I hafta keep it out of plain sight 'cause the more I see it, the more I wanna keep it!
I think we're doing a Guitar World magazine subscription for my bro-in-law... but I dunno yet. I usually take care of the girls and my husband suggests things for the guys, but he'll wait until a week before Christmas so I hafta nudge him every now and then!
I'm getting my husband a inversion board. he has back problems and I think it'll help him to be able to hang upside down every now and then... me, too
I've always done wrapping paper/bags before, but last year I did those hard board, paper covered boxes.
I found some really cute ones last year - different shapes and sizes, and not so much Christmas-oriented - and just wrapped ribbon around them. now they have storage for the stuff I put in them, or a box to put something else in for someone else. I'm doing that again this year. I'm trying for a no-wasted-paper-Christmas
LOL CANADIAN! The canadian has nice hair.
I got some stuff at work They do good 3 for 2s and I have staff discount so I got my mum a mini perfume set, I got Mike a Ted Baker man perfume stuff with a hip flask (cuz I'm sure he said he wanted one, cuz he's a boy and they like hipflasks!?) and it has two shot glasses that say 'bottoms up' on the base! So I got my dad this No7 for men set for free with shaving cream, shaving balm and nailclippers and scissors in a little holder. So I saved £23 including my staff discount. I want to wrap presents as soon as I have bought them but I'll do that next weekend or whenever I have the chance! I'm also going to get Mike a book and I made him the heebeegeebees bag and I'm getting my mum a book too. Her birthday is 3 days before mine, on the 13th Dec, so I'm going to get her another book and things to make her hair shiney and straight for that
ooh everyone is on par.
and a no waste paper is a great idea.
MICHELLE YOU ARE UTTERLY ADORABLE! lmfao!
I am making almost all my gifts, and the only things I'm really buying, are the supplies to make the gifts. I cannot say because my two friends are on here.
But, for my aunt, I'll probably make her some kind of alchohol-related gift she's a bartender], and my mom... I don't know... I'll probably make a version of the magic fairy dust, and have it be sleep dust [she has intense insomnia]. I'll probably be making tons and tons of jewelry and/or clothing items.
I don't know what I'm going to get my mom and dad for christmas....my brother and I usually go together on that one....it's easier...we can buy better things when we put our money together...but since he lives out of state...we are waiting until thanksgiving to get their gift.
I am debating on what I am going to get my niece..she'll be about 1 1/2 and there are SO MANY CUTE THINGS OUT THERE!!! My sister also lives out of state, so we are trying not to buy too many big things for baby, because they might not beable to get it all to fit in the car on the way home...they have lots of christmas'.
I know I'm going to get my boy a tackle box...because he has suddenly gone all out with the fishing theme...and now he has so much fishing stuff and NOWHERE to put it!! I am also going to make him a picture slide show. I want to get his mom a solar light, 'cuz my mom works in the electrical department in a department store...and she gets TONS of REALLY cool solar lights...like ones that change colors.
I got my puppy little paw things for when she goes outside so they will keep her paws from getting cold. I hope she wears them!
Christmas in my family is usually for the little kids...so the older ones don't get a whole lot...I don't really have that many people to buy gifts for...even though I will probably have about 3 or 4 christmas'.
I don't know!!!
I've made an embroidered hanky for Tim's mum. Can't say right now what I got Tim cause he's next to me. I know what I'm making for the people on here I'm swapping with. Gonna make a felt bee for a girl I know...and apart from that, I have no idea.
I really need a blanket present, one that's not too expensive or time-consuming, but I can get for people at work and such forth. But I have no idea!
I'm so rubbish at buying gifts for my friends/family that I decided to start super early so that I have some thinking time....
so far I have my parents & sister's gifts, but as for everyone else I have no idea what to do. I'd prefer to make stuff rather than go out and buy things that they'll probably just put away somewhere never to be seen again, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to manage it!
btw, michelle you are so super cute!
I only have three people I get gifts for, and I'm super bad at that... So usually when ever I see something they might like (or something I can make that they might like) I go ahead and buy or make it and give it to 'em then. I can never usually wait for Christmas. Right now I have a super cute idea for one of 'em that I'm going to make super special and I can't wait, and I know what I would like to buy my boyfriend (if some cousin's wedding wasn't sucking up all my funds. Seriously.) I'm only really stuck on one .
I worked in retail long enough to have an intense dislike of the holiday season, though I'm fine with the whole general idea. Most people know this and know I could really not use more stuff. So it works out.
For my family, my cousin and I usually get together and do a giant craft fest and make cool things for everyone.
Today I got Mike's mum a make up set, his dad an Asian beer set and my mum's friend a nail varnish set (cuz it was 3 for 2 and I saved my mum a bit of money) and I got my mum one of those infalible lipstick compacts cuz she wanted one but they are expesnive but it was on offer and I get my discount and wages so, I feel like I should spoil my mum because she works very hard and deserves a treat I got my mum some 'moisture seal' conditioner and this spray to make your hair all shiney for xmas or her bday too cuz shes started straightening and has got the bug where you become obsessed with straightness!!!! anyway I'm gonna get some books tomorrow for people and Mike some rubber ducks as a joke present
My gift is ME! *tipy toes around like a princess*
And I will come to your house ready to eat your food and tell you thank you for cooking this wonderful food ♥
I really need to begin making things for Christmas...I was hoping to make all the nieces and neph's sock monkey's (there are 9 total)... As for the spousal unit...I love the huge peanut butter cup idea (and maybe a sock monkey). The childrens...well, I'm not sure and I think I'm making things out of old wool sweaters for my mom and dad. I thinks I need to get organized. Thanks for the reminder.
I have done some kind of an JL Skull Hair Flower for my sister...because my sister loved it.
Because of christmas I decided to buy her one..But I can´t find it somewhere in Germany.
I don´t want to order it from the USA over internet because I didn´t have visa or something like that.. and so I decided to make her a sort of copy.. But now JL is angry about me because I made a Fan Necklace for me with her vampire girl logo too..oO
I can´t understand this because its just a fan-necklace and a flower... come on!!!
