Need a creative upcycle idea for a coat

So the other day while thrifting, I picked up a vintage coat. It's kind of like a very long blazer, but not so long that it looks like a trench coat.
I like the fabric it's made from, but don't like the way it looks on me as-is. The print is really wild, like a white-gold background with a black filigree pattern. I was thinking it might make a cute skirt, but would like other ideas as well. I'd like it to be a wearable garment for sure.

I'll take a picture when I take it out of the dryer.

Any ideas?

I'd have to see it first- but I have seen some cool bags made out of coats.

A cloak would also be super cool, just cut open up the sleeves and side seams and sew them back together so it's all one piece... I'm probably going to have to go do that now to one of my coats.

If it's too large, you could add D-rings to the back to make it corseted. You could also make a vest by cutting off the sleeves and perhaps shortening it.

Ooh, a vest! My fiance's mom suggested that I just cut some of the bottom length off, but it's such a wild print that the sleeves are even a bit much. Maybe I can cut it up in such a way that I can make a vest and a little handbag, or maybe a vest and a skirt.

It actually fits a wee bit tight which will change as I lose more weight, but the corseted back idea is awesome as well.

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm gonna keep brainstorming, too, since it'll be another few days until my sewing machine is out of the shop.
