Where to buy chain?
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to buy chains for jewellery in the UK (London ideally)? Usually I just go to John Lewis, but they only ever have one sort. I just want cheap simple stuff, and online I can only ever find expensive precious metal ones.
Etsy has some pretty good stuff that's not to expensive. Just go to the supply section.
Etsy is actually usually good for supplies because someone brave enough will order in bulk from cheaper sources, and resell at reasonable prices that are still lower than actual supply stores.
Some American retailers like Hobby Lobby offer international shipping, but I think you have to call in to place the order.
Amazon would be another good bet as they have a whole arts, crafts, and sewing section. I've found some neat things there.
Have you tried the local hardware store? They sell all kinds of sizes by the foot and depending on your creative level you might find something you like.
I am not sure about any shop for jewellery shopping as I always order jewellery from online stores as they have quite a variety of products.
NO!!!! do not buy at etsy! too much ca$h!!! i do love etsy but too much wastefulness. go to a hardware store, they have great selection and very reasonable. good luck.
I agree, Homebase, B&Q, local key smith/hardware. However, I get all my delicate & chunky chain from JewelleryMaker.com online. It's delivered direct to home within 3-4 days & they often have bargains but generally prices are good on website. P&p only £2.95 whether you buy 1 item or 1000's & any weight! Really good value. Deliver anywhere in the world not just UK.
