I'm trying to re-decorate my bedroom??

Hi everybody, so I am trying to re-decorate my room, since I have never done it before so it is still "childhood" themed, and everything. But the thing is, I have no money, really at all. The soonest I will have money is between next allowance (If I am lucky 20 dollars) which probably will not happen, my Dad is very frugal with allowance and June, when my birthday is, which is also 20 dollars from my grandparents. But it is possible that neither of those will happen at all. Old people are forgetful and Fathers are frugal. It happens. But, yeah no money. I wasn't expecting any new furniture unless it is thrifted (not probable) up cycled, handed down, or made by hand. I have a bed (no bed post thingy, my bed is literally [I mean this] on a pile of boxes and buckets) a dresser and a comfy wicker chair from when my grandmother passed. And a bookshelf. My room isn't huge, but not really small. Regular small I suppose. I cleaned it well and keep it clean, and am trying to get my parents to put a desk in there. But I was wondering if you had any ideas of accessories or furniture or general tips on how I have a better room with all homemade things, the DIY way. My color scheme is purple and silver, and neutrals. I don't have a ton of themes, I like Alice in Wonderland a lot, and am thinking of some props for that. Uhm, I just want a place to be where I can do what I like and feel comfortable in. Something that resembles who I am. I like to write, and draw (I'm not a good artist though) and I make a lot sculptures. Music is good. I am learning Piano. I like makeup and doing my nails a lot, but don't let that fool you into thinking I am a girly girl. Sometimes I act four, sometimes my age, and sometimes I act much older than I am. I read a lot. And have a lot of cats. I'm not a crazy cat lady, I just like cats. I have seven cats. I have to many cats. I need space for all my weird stuff I have, but I never find any solutions. I can't paint by the way, the walls. I have never been aloud to. It would be nice to have space for my home school stuff, but the desk would help with that. My sister comes in a lot and we watch TV. I have a TV by the way. If it where up to me I wouldn't have it in there, but my parents like to think of it as there bedroom too. I really want like a dress form, so I can make clothes but those are expensive, so I am going to try to make my own. I do like fashion, designing it and everything but we are to poor to invest in clothes very much.I like photography but I don't do it because my sister does it, and I would never want to take it away from her. I also like to sing, but that doesn't take a ton of room. I also have a Betta fish, and I should have a better system to keep the cats out of his bowl, but there isn't room yet. So that's me, and I want a room that resembles me, but would like to do it myself. Any tips, ideas, links, general help, it all means a lot and is a lot of help, and I thank you in advance. I just feel really claustrophobic in there right now. And it would be nice to have a place of my own Happy OH and I would tell you my age, but my parents don't like it when I do that. I guess I act older then I am, I act around hmm. I don't know. maybe 14? 15? I don't know. OK, if I don't go now, I will just keep talking. So, thank you in advance. Jeez this is long! Sorry bout that.... Sorry I rambled a lot. Most of this is unnecessary jibber.

So for a low cost budget I highly suggest the following things:

Check out thrift shops and garage sales for cute/ vintage accessories such as picture frames, lamps, candle holders, jewelry boxes, perfume bottles and such. You can also get accessories and organizers that are in expensive at places like Marshall's and home goods. If you need new furniture like a desk look at what you can find at thrift shops, garage sales, Craigslist and the "As Is" section of Ikea. You can always work with what you have, make a cute upholstered cushion for your wicker chair, you can find remnant fabric for cheap and craft stores. Don't worry about your bed, a bed skirt hides anything that doesn't look nice underneath and you can always draw, paint or upholster your own headboard when you have the chance. (I got a hold of chalkboard paint and painted a "head board" rectangle behind my bed which I decorate with chalk all the time.) And a can of paint can do wonders if not for your walls then for your furniture. You can get a good TV Cabinet on Craigslist or something to put your TV on and keep all your craft gear inside.

I have a friend who built a desk out of plastic milk crates, zip ties, and a couple planks of wood. It offered a lot of storage, but I think it looked a little cheap without any other covering... Neat idea though and it would probably look awesome with some fake flowers or fabric draped around it. Some grocers might give you milk crates for free if you ask for them.
There are also a ton of places that have tutorials for making your own bed frame with storage underneath it. A quick Google search will net you a ton of results. They can be a bit pricy to make unless you have lots of wood pieces sitting around.
As for not being able to paint the walls, there are a lot of kinds of wallpapers now that are completely removable. Thrift stores will often have many rolls of wallpaper somewhere. Contact paper could also be used--it's very easy to remove from a surface once you put it on, but it won't really peel off on its own like wallpaper might.
My fiance and I have an apartment and we don't have an actual bed frame--we use a futon frame. Futon frames are great because they are lightweight, inexpensive, and very easy to move... and ours is high enough off the floor that we could put storage bins underneath if we needed to. They're probably pretty cheap at thrift stores... New, they range from $60 to $120. We got our nicest one on sale for $70 without a mattress.

If money is a hard thing for you to come by, start saving what you get so you can eventually afford bigger and better pieces of furniture. The thrift store in town where I am always has tons of old computer desks, tables, and other stuff for as low as $8 sometimes. They usually have pretty cool chairs, too.

If you have a lot of wall space that's going unused, get wall cubbies, or make them. All you need is 4 planks of wood that are all about the same size and nail them and glue them together into a square or rectangle shape.
