Yay! So Excited!
For Christmas my boyfriend bought me my first serger. I took it out of the box last week and have been dancing around it since. After working up all the courage I could muster I sat down and threaded it and used it for the first time! I'm so excited it worked beautifully!
I had to share that because I'm a dork and it really made me happy.
Damn! Lower looper keeps coming un-threaded- anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it from doing that?
my top looper keeps coming undone, I feel ur pain
It was a pain and a half- took me most of the day to figure out how to re-thread it! Then when I realized how to do it I kicked myself for not realizing it sooner!
Hi, run more thread through at the end of overlocking. You can snip the excess off your material and it will help stop the un-threading of the machine. Hope this helps
Thanks Sheila! I actually figured out the problem was that the lower looper came completely undone! It took me the longest time to figure out the simple solution to getting that re-threaded through all of its loops and bobs! It works like a dream now!
I was so excited for my birthday serger (back in October) but it's still in its box behind the sofa. I guess I haven't found that one project that I *have* to do with a serger that will make me break it out and clear some space for it.
I just inherited an old husqvarna sewing machine from my grandmother. Its from the 40/50's but she always had it tuned up and cleaned. So it still works great. But really different from the others I've used. So the other night I sat down and read the manual! I am soo glad she kept that book around! It took me a while but by the end of the night it was sewing away. Now I just dont want to put it away! Yey to New(ish) Sewing Machines <3
