Where do you get Shrink plastic?

I know the craft stores probably have it, but what section is it in most of the time? I hate bothering the employees to ask where this would be. I used to work at an arts and crafts shop and hated being bothered by customers too much(there was always too much work to get done and never enough time!). Plus I need to know how it works. I can't exactly buy it if I don't have the right supplies(like the right printer).

I haven't been able to find the plastic you can put in your printer yet. But I save all my take-out containers and make my own.. works just as good....

I have found it at Micheals near the stamps and ink pads. They have the kind you can use in your printer plus a pack with different colors besides white. Can't remember where, or if Hobby Lobby even has it.

Well I do shop at Michaels too, just not as much because certain things are way more expensive.

Abbyka, if you sign up to get emails and news letters or something or other from Michaels, you get 40 and 50% off coupons you can print out to use on a single item. I use mine every chance I get, they do come in handy!

I didn't sign up but I've been able to go to the site and find coupons just fine. I don't go to craft stores often(there isn't one in town, they're ALL an hour away) so I usually just order online if I really need something that our local walmart doesn't have. Which is what I may end up doing for the shrink plastic if I can't get to the store when I have the money for it. I'm sure walmart DOESN'T have shrink plastic. They've downsized their craft section so much it's ridiculous.

Hm, didn't know you could find coupons at the site, but oh well, ya learn something new everyday!! And yeah, it does suck like a hoover that Walmart doesn't have the stuff they used to. My mom works there and she lets me know about when they are getting rid of certain things crafty, so when they have a clearance on them, she gets them for me. She did say though, that some of the of the stores are keeping most of their items like the fabric. None near me, or at least not where I live now. And yeah, they don't have the shrink plastic.

I ordered some on the Hobby Lobby website. From what I gather sharpie markers work on it? I only have black but I'll buy all the colors if they work on it! I draw better than I can form stuff with clay, so I might switch to shrink plastic from clay. lmao

Yeah Abbyka, permanent marker will work. I have used it on shrink plastic and it stays, just have to coat with something after it's shrunk to keep the color from being scratched or flaked off. The color also brightens up too after being shrunk. It's trial and error thing when finding something to seal it; I already know clear polish or acrylic spray are BAAADD!!! The most reliable I have come up with so far is mod podge and plan on trying Glossy Accents, which is what I'm now using on my domino and scrabble tile pendants. I'm thinking it's something like diamond glaze, so it's gives like a dimensional look to the piece and dries to a hard, clear, glossy finish.

I have mod podge thank God! lol It's not something I use often so it's kind of old. I've had the same jar for five years.
