Candy Brush Question?

I watched a tutorial on making filled candy in molds. I have the candy to melt down, I have the caramel and soy butter (I am very allergic to peanuts! so my husband eats soy butter, hehe) and I am going to fill some white chocolate, the vanilla almond bark stuff with that. I have the molds and just bought normal like plastic brushes from painting section. Because you have to paint the chocolate in the mold first, then let it cool. Is it ok to use those brushes? I didn't see any particular brush just for candy! thanks!

The brushes themselves would probably work, but they may not be the safest thing to use. It depends on what the brushes are made out of. Don't use any brushes that may contain toxic materials like plastic (well, duh). And OBVIOUSLY don't use these brushes for other crafts, such as painting.

The cooking sections of most stores will have brushes made special for food-contact use.
