Party Snack Ideas Needed
It's my 18th birthday at the end of the month and I'm gonna have a pool party. I need some ideas of unusual snacks I can make. I just want to make things that you don't usually have at a party.
So far I am making:
Snacks:
Sushi
Banana and bacon wrap mini kebabs (I don't know how else to explain these)
Food:
Homemade pizza
Desert:
Trifle
As well as a desert my friend wants to make. He won't tell me what it is but it's something caramel
Any ideas are appreciated!
Since it's a pool party, you'll want to serve snacks that provide energy, like vegetables, fruits, and some grains and nuts. I would suggest maybe have a homemade trail mix with almonds, walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries and the like.
When I think of pool party, I usually think of spinach & strawberry salad with pecans, feta cheese, and a fruity vinaigrette dressing.
I definitely agree with Monika about the fruit and veggies and nuts. It nice and healthy finger food/snacks to keep energized and happy also! I think of finger food like mini cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches and pigs in a blanket! You could also use tuna or some other type of meat in the little sandwiches with cheese. I think little cake pops or something like that would be nice too
Lol, just the thought of healthy food makes me nauseous... My mother is an extreme health freak convinced that I'm fat so I'm never allowed to eat anything "unhealthy" and the only time I can is on my birthday...
Caramel popcorn ;)
Cake suggestion to follow ! (need to take pic of photograph)
Pigs in blankets...Here is my tutorial for super easy ones. Since you want unhealthy I would try these! I used veggie dogs, but you can use anything.

Or mozzarella sticks, I know they were a fav. of my friends when I was a teenager, you could also whip up some marinara sauce or other dipping options.

This may be a little too quirky but what about making a bunch of popcorn balls in your favorite colors and hanging them from twine onto a tree. It would be awesome if you made them look like fruit (apples, oranges, plums...). Good luck!
I'm partial to a chocolate finger myself! (I do love kids party food ... still)
haha ok well in that case.. I def say stay away from the healthy stuff if only on that day! Pigs in blankets are a great idea! I freaking love those things! maybe chocolate covered strawberries and sweets? mozzarella sticks would be awesome too I think.
How about Bacon wrapped crab meat? I know, severely fattening, but they are quite good. I am a huge seafood fan, so you could try crab puffs, always a fave of mine. The price is pretty good for real crab meat, but you do not have to get the real deal, it does taste better, though.

More sugar +blue icing+white chocolate than was good for any pool party.
Hubby loved making it- I got all the extra white chocolate.Probably also explains how we grew a Waterpolo player!
Hahahaha that's an epic cake, Debs! I wish I had the skills to make that xD
i like the featured blog on here, sugar rocks on a stick, sugary and look cool.
Cupcakes. With Poprocks in the middle Bake like usual, then cut a small circle out of the top, add poprocks, squish back in and add icing. They'll never suspect it, muahaha
