The body Shop

Queen started a topic on Lush. I thought I would start one on the body shop. I love their products, lip glosses and makeup, cleansers and scrubs

Booooooooo.

I boycotted the Body Shop.

They sold out to L'Oreal, the largest cosmetics company which tests on animals. And after Body Shop made all that fuss about not testing on animals. I was not happy.

Yeah, my point exactly. I only boycott a few things because...well, to be honest, it does nothing. But I do the occasional thing to alleviate my conscience, and one of them is L'Oreal, which means that Body Shop had to go. Sigh, I liked them as well

As far as I can see they still are against animal testing, so I will still use their stuff. SO many companies are owned by other big companies, that are against something you may stand for. It's pretty hard to be so vigilant all the time.
But it's good to be informed of these things Happy

Has anyone used their henna hair dye? I would love to stop using regular dyes. They are killing my scalp and hair and also bad for the environment

The Body Shop don't test on animals, but they give money to a company which DOES, which is just as bad in my opinion. I just don't like the hypocrisy of it.

Well they are on their way to stopping animal testing

Apparently the EU wants to have no animal testing for cosmetics by 2013, so they will have to stop by then anyway.

About time too! It's just pointless, really. I've done my research into it, and it's really quite pointless. It's not even 100% proof anyway. It's just needless torture of animals.

Although I've gotta say, I know hardly anyone who cares about this kind of thing. And the only people I do know, don't wear makeup. You can't make people care about it but they should have brought a law in a long time ago.
