I recycle. I collect old things such as old tins and jars. I have them on display so i make use of these and store my craft supplies in these. Old tabacco tins are good for small items and biscuit tins are great for the larger items. If my craft items look good i display them in my old jars. This way i save on space and can combine my to passions.

I have found that fishing tackle boxes are really handy. They generally have lots of handy easy to access compartments for various crafting items such as beads or charms. The top section is usually opaque so you can see what you have or what you may need at a glance. I like how they are easy and compact enough to carry around from place to place. You can also decorate the box in any way you like to make it as gorgeous as you can!

I store my things in old baby food jars, i use a stuff animal for needles and for other things like buttons in match boxes

~Top Tip for Organizing Craft Supplies~

Save every bag, box and container!

You can always re-use them for storing everything from beads to fabric remnants and glitter!

An old or unused fishing tackle box with its compartments can be used just for that purpose of storing little stuff like sequins, brads, threads, buttons, beads, what ever needs to be kept contained and safe from little hands.

I heard that putting bits and pieces of craft stuff in empty jars and spice containers is good. Also using little boxes. Unfortunately I don't have enough containers to do this so at the moment everything is just in a box. =\

My top tips for organizing fabric is to fold the fabric around a paper sized piece of cardboard untill you get a neat little bolt of fabric. After wards get some simple cardboard magazine organizers from Ikea and place the bolts of fabric in like books. These little orgazers can be stored on a book shelf and helps to keep fabric tidy and out of the way until it's time to use it.

Ferrero Rocher boxes are incredible!!

First of all, the containers are made of a clear, sturdy plastic so even when you stack them you can see what is inside each of box without having to label them. Most of the larger boxes come with a handy plastic tray with "cups" that cradle the chocolates, and I found that the trays are great for holding little nick-knacks like sequins, buttons, googly eyes, etc. They work great as earring holders too! Actually, any chocolate box that comes with the plastic tray will work; I just prefer the clear Ferrero Rocher boxes because they make finding things a lot easier.

You can also remove the tray to store bigger items. I can easily fit all of my bobbins in there by laying them on their sides, and they look *gorgeous* in the crystal clear box when you organize them into the colors of the rainbow. I always leave my box of bobbins out on the counter or the coffee table for show, haha!

Best tip I can give is to make it yourself to fit your needs.

I was tired of my sewing gear being all over the place while working on a project or stored in various storage containers so I made my own roll up kit custom for all the tools I use the most. All it took was some spare fabric and a good ruler.

I use small makeup containers (sometimes called caboodles) meant for holding lipsticks and nail polishes to store small, easy-to-lose things such as paintbrushes, markers, scissors, etc. They have tiny compartments that make keeping these things super organized and easy to access.

I use tool/nail organizers to organize small notions- buttons etc.

the great big sweetie tins from christmas time make excellent storage tubs (untill your 2 year old trys to get to the sweets and emptys the contents of your sewing tub on to the floor!!)

I have a whole host of little storage pots on my craft desk. Including: kilner jars, jam jars, old perfume pots and terracotta plant pots.

I paint old shoe boxes and make partitions inside it with cardboard. Looks great!

I store my beads and oddments in Japanese Bento boxes, not only does it keep the tidy but the look super cool and bright

I have a few boxes for my beads that are divided. I organize the beads in the dividers based on color, ideas, etc.

7 day pill containers (Monday thru Sunday) are great for holding your little scrapping supplies... brads, charms etc.

I store sequins in old tictac packets.
