Lee Rose recreates the cosy and artistic style of a Gypsy Vardo for this week's DIY The Room.
When I think of the Gypsy Vardo I think mostly of texture and space. With less space comes more need for storage like the suitcase table or the thrift store baskets. Tiny accents like sugar skulls and lavender stars add to the fortune teller aire without taking up much space, and lots of bowls act as open storage as well as decor. The hanging chair leaves valuable floor space open and holds comfy patchwork pillows. The rug, curtains, and lampshade finish off the textural circus, and keep the gypsy wagon feeling like a portable home.
Hillarys headed out on a crafts roadshow across 4 UK cities last month and we were lucky enough to be invited along to their Crafternoon in Glasgow with Joe Blogs and The Crafty Hen where we learned how-to make a notebook cover and hand-stitched bird.
Inspired by the class, we're teaching you how-to make your own sketchbook notebook cover and giving you a chance to win one of five goodie bags from the event. Just click below to enter!
Kaarst is a small city with 40000 inhabitants. It is a calm and save place to love. We have a nice food market and lots of organic farmers. It has not the biggest cultural scene but what's really great is that it is very near to some big cities such as Düsseldorf and cologne. Also, the Netherlands are only a 30 min drive away. I like the lake in Kaarst - a good spot in summer!
If you like animal ears, flower crowns and gorgeous hair clips then you're going to love The Glitterati, a new subscription box from Crown & Glory. Our first box came filled with sparkly spring themed accessories including a glittery rabbit headband, pink & blue flower crown, adorable mini rabbit ear hair clip, lace hair scarf and flower hair clips. Inspired by the new arrivals, I decided to make a light-up frame to keep them on display and we're giving you a chance to win your own box too.
