Hi, I'm Clare, a designer maker. I live in Broadstairs on the Kent coast with my family and I write craft books.
Ginnie from HelloLittleHome recreates the inspiring workspace of Diane Von Furstenberg for #DIYTheRoom
Diane Von Furstenberg's office is the epitome of a creative work space. It's full of fun colors, inspirational items, and beautiful art. and To capture the look, I chose a combination of glam, yet functional accessories and paired them with plenty of bright colors.
What's the big deal about Austin? The food. Oh y'all, the food in Austin is simply the best. Sure, we have the best (brisket, beef) BBQ in the world—at Franklin's, Salt Lick, and Rudy's—but we're not only about meats. What's Austin if not hippies, hipsters, and vegans? Yep, the non-meaty foods are great, too. Spanning both sides of the meat equation are our famous breakfast tacos. No mere wraps with scrambled eggs inside, breakfast tacos feature amazing ingredients like fried avocados (from Torchys), refried black beans (Tacodeli), fish (Wahoo's Fish Tacos), and really anything else you can dream up. If you're really good, you'll get "migas", which are a nice blend of scrambled eggs and tomatoes plus bits of tortilla. We heard you liked tortillas, so we put tortillas in your tortilla, so you can eat tortillas while you eat tortillas.
Markee recreates the gory style of a Club Kid themed monster party for this week's #DIYTheParty
I would love to go to a Club Kid themed party, as they are about decadence, fun, gore and dressing up in a creative way. Club Kids accepted people at the fringes of society, and they spent their nights looking fabulous. They challenged the status quo, and held a party where ever they could, whether it was a burger joint or subway.
Come behind the scenes at Ellison Lane and tour Jennifer's sewing room in North Carolina.
I love that this room has a lot of natural light and plenty of space for my cutting and sewing tables. It's a very cheerful space. Since it is a guest room, it has a large closet space that houses my fabric , notions and supplies. I love that I can keep those things tucked away so my space stays relatively clutter-free.
Emily from Love Emmarie recreates the chic style of model Karlie Kloss.
Karlie Kloss has been one of my biggest role models, sources of fashion inspiration and my all time favorite model since I saw her in Teen Vogue way back in 2010. I was just a precious little 8th grader at the time, so I thank God that I looked up to her instead of some other crazy. Every aspect of her is at "goals" level. Her style is simple, classy and elegant, she's positive and caring, and her friendship with Taylor Swift is the definition of friend goals. She's also very tall like myself, which is another reason she's an inspiration to me. I know that if she can rock stilettos on the daily, so can I. I picked out some pieces to create a look that would be perfect for a upscale birthday brunch in the city. A classic A-line skirt and striped top paired up with an embellished trench and some glittery pumps to add some "pizzazz" if you will. I kept the accessories simple with a pretty gold collar necklace and a envelop clutch. Finish off the entire look with a day time appropriate smokey eye and classic vintage waves and you've got yourself ready for the day.
