Does any one else Crochet or Knit

I crochet. Knitting drove me to distraction. I kind of caught on to continental knitting, but I get results a lot faster with crochet. I suppose if I learned to knit first it would be the other way around.

I find crochet really tricky as well, it just seems to me to be much more labour intensive than knitting which I could do for hours on automatic.
I went to the charity shop t'other day and bought:
pair jumbo wooden needles
pack of double ended needles
circular knitting needles
4 1oz balls of pink bubble wool
an antique carved crochet hook
a bodkin needle
linen thread
embriodery thread
a stitch keeper
2 kilt pins
for THREE POUNDS (six dollars?). I love charity.
what is the main differences between english/american crochet and knitting?

yeah where I live (Southampton, urgh) there is a charity shop every other shop. But most have a drawer of knitting patterns at least, I always just ask if they have anything out back.

That's why I learnt to crochet- You only need to learn one stitch for amigurumi, single crochet. You have to know how to increase and decrease too but that's just a slight variation of the single crochet. When I've got more time on my hands I'll see if I can do a 'How to' on crochet.

I do both but I'm really, really snail pace slow at knitting. Crocheting I can do pretty easily even while watching a distracting show on T.V. So I prefer to crochet!
