About
You always ask the hard questions! I was born to create and it is when I am happiest in my life. I remember very much what it was like to be a child, therefore, I think life is for playing and there is nothing more precious than a child. G*d never said we had to go through life miserable and so, I choose to be happy every day.
I have really been missing a group of artists to share ideas with and bounce my new ideas off. I recently became disabled (can't see it but it's there...result of birth defects in my internal organs that I did not know I have.) Now I am faced with having to make a new life for myself. I am in the planning stages of getting 4-5 different art businesses off the ground.
Thank you Crafty Chica for the wonderful lecture on how to start a business in art.
I need a group of like minded people to keep me motivated. I prone to depression because I am housebound most of the time and do see many people or the outside world. so I really need you guys to keep me going. I have notebook upon notebooks full of ideas that I need to bring to fruition. Push me.
I can handle Publisher fairly well, but really need to learn PhotoShop. If there is anyone with expertise, I welcome all advice.
I currently have two commissions for cover art for science fiction books. I get to draw little green sexy female aliens. I also have a commission to design a few cars for a man who customizes cars and puts them in competition. I wish I could show you my ideas on that, but as they will be in competition in 2009, everything is of the utmost secrecy. I have a friend who will be marrying and his fiance wants me to design the wedding invitations. I am thinking something with kirigami.
I love to send cards for holidays and I insist that they all are my original designs. I missed cards for Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) because I was dealing with some health issues...so those cards will be used for Hannukah. I am hoping to take lessons in Hebrew this coming month.
I am always honest and straight forward. I don't beat around the bush about anything. So if you ask my opinion you will get exactly what I think. Please do not take it as rudeness or personal dislike. The longer I live the more I find that lies, even the little white ones, do no one any good. I do have tact however.
I genuinely love all of mankind. I am very spiritual and my spiritualism transfers into most of my art works. By far, my favorite artist is Frida Kahlo. I love the surrealists most. I always felt inadequate because I have no formal training and am self taught. But one day a college professor told me that the hottest thing in collectible art is now "outsider" art. Art by artists who have no formal training. That made my day.
After all if G*d created me to be an artist and gave me the talent, why should I need a piece of paper with someone else's permission.
I jump into everything with two feet and I am not afraid to try anything. (I have never drawn renditions of cars before--but don't tell anyone.) I love life and I don't plan to die until I am at least 120-years old, so I hope you talented creatures don't get tired of me quickly.
I am Raechal.
