How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I found it when I was looking for a tutorial to follow for some project or other for my uni course (Drama, focusing on Costume and Set). As I was flicking through I just thought 'I could do this' and registered to try it out, then ended up hooked all through uni.

What projects are you currently working on?

I'm currently making my first ever afghan, using the colours of the 'My Little Pony' characters. I also teach Textiles at a High School, so there's lots of students projects on the go too. I'm developing some sewn electronics projects at the moments for them.

What does your craft space look like?

At the moment it is a pile of supplies in the corner of the room because I've just moved house! I'm going to be setting up a proper craft area for the first time ever, and I'm so excited. I used to just sit on the sofa or at the kitchen table.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

Yarn and a crochet hook (Size E/ 3.5mm). The best size hook for Amigurumi.

What do you craft along to?

'How I Met Your Mother' is actually my most common background noise. But now that's finished I'm on the hunt for a new sit com to craft alongside.

Favorite Craft

I am a huge Amigurumi fan (small crochet critters). I discovered it a couple of years ago and it's my main crafting outlet now.

Ruth's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I'd love to be able to knit properly. I can do the basics, but the idea of making jumpers daunts me! My Mum is a fabulous knitter so one day I'll get her to teach me properly.

Who are your crafting heroes?

There's a group of crocheters I'm in a secret club with on Facebook, started by a lady called the Mad Crochet Scientist (www.madcrochetlab.com). They're all my heroes because they keep me crafting through their inspiration and keep me sane when things go wrong!
