I like making things and am getting into using my sewing machine more, though I'm scared of patterns and things - I'm a knitter and I understand those kind but words like 'selvedge' and 'bias' I just don't get yet.

Most of the stuff I've made that's not knitting has been refashioned from old clothes - I just made a t-shirt dress, and I did a skirt made of a man's shirt and an old pair of jeans, another skirt made from some jersey trousers and some t-shirts.

Would like to get into making stuff from scratch that fits better than shop-bought stuff seems to want to!

I'm a big geek and get a kick out of off-beat and geeky patterns/designs. I've been a graphic designer in the past and it'd be cool to use those skills in a new way.
