About

Mom taught me to sew when I was 10 & I've been addicted ever since. It got me through many years as a single mom, making me able to dress my kids in clothes I never could have afforded otherwise. I used my skills to make extra money while I was going to college and raising my kids; all the while, I learned more and more since sewing for growing kids takes different techniques than making baby clothes or simple tops and pants or skirts. I've made everything from baby wipes/washcloths to simple wedding dresses (including my own). Now I sew for myself, my kids, and my grandkids as well as maintaining an Etsy store and a Hyenacart one, too. Sewing is different today than it was 40 years ago while it's also the same....there are still only so many different stitches, so many different ways to attach one piece of fabric to another - however, we have many more options for adding to the basics. I still love sewing. I can't seem to get over how awesome it feels to create something from a flat piece of fabric - something I can watch my loved ones wear over and over, something I can enjoy for a long time. I'm a addict. I can't live without my sewing machines and my fabric.

Thanks for your nice comment Trisha! Yes, it's hard to find projects for plus-size ladies so whenever I try a project and tailor it for my size, I make sure I post it.
