Cool!
I started sewing with a machine back in October. My Grandmother gave me one of her sewing machines. I've sewn things by hand but nothing really serious like what I've been doing lately. I too have been more into accessories. I've made a few pieces but they were definitely learning experiences. I don't think I can wear them in public :0). But I am determined...I just have to keep practicing.

I started sewing when I was about 11 years old, so that was nearly 40 years ago. Yep, don't know where that time went. But I am pretty sure that MILES of cut threads. I am not a pro by any means, but I do enjoy making things. Right now, it's a lot of accessories, but I've done several outfits for my kids and myself.
I'd be happy to share pointers -- or at least how I managed to sew my way out of various fabric-related problems.

Thank you very much!
Don't feel bad about the sewing lingo. I wouldn't have learned anything new if you hadn't used that term. How long have you been sewing? I would love to get pointers from you. I hope to one day start my own clothing line....Mod.S.T Fashions.

I look forward to seeing your version of the Anthro Bag. I put another bag up last night but I haven't done the tutorial yet.

Oh gosh! I can't believe you are new to sewing -- that tutorial was really professional. Now I feel bad for flinging around sewing terms like some kind of sewing smarty pants! Thanks for the clarification. I have purchased fabric specially for this lovely bag, rather than making do with whatever I have in the my stash. I look forward to more of your projects. You are a very talented beginner!

THanks for the comment on my Anthro Inspired Bag. To answer your question, yes the outer strip is attached to the sides of the bag to form a gusset.

I am a beginner in sewing...I didn't know what a gusset was. I had to look it up before answering your question. I just learned something new! Thanks!
