About
I am a mother of two, a son and daughter, been happily married for the last 41 years. My hubby is a crime fiction writer and we managed to leave Cuba and make our life here in Canada, giving our offspring a world of freedom & opportunities to make their dreams come true.
My family is the center of my Universe and their needs go before my own desire to craft all day long, so I tend to indulge in my crafty needs late at night when they are fast asleep.
I have been crafting ever since I can remember, guess seeing my Dad decorating my bedroom walls with those lovely paintings of fairy tales and creating fantastic and magical moving Nativity scenes or sculpting marvelous figures opened up for me the world of creativity.
I like to experiment while creating and have never taking a class, so all I create is a mixture of trail and error until i get it right at least for me.
Being from Cuba where surviving is hard and takes up all your thoughts and efforts has opened my mind to make do with what I have within my reach. It has also given me an understanding and appreciation of using what i have to make beautiful things and expand my creativity, so when I embark on a project I first search through my stash and try to use things from there, maybe reshaping, taking apart and using what I have after I have worked the material to my needs. Amazing all you can do!
Reading takes an important place in my life as well.
