I tottally would from what ive seen its right up my alley. I love victoriana, lolita and steam punk. A good form is next on my shopping list, that and a good steam iron.
Engineering nd mathematics arent so different from clothing construction i guess lol. U must be super smart as well as super talented.

Tee hee, I don't have any slopers but I do have a fantastic body form. I ironically studied engineering, physics, mathematics and jewellery construction at college. The pattern and clothing making had always been a hobby for me after buying my first sewing machine at 11 with my saved pocket money. My circumstances have changed recently due to illness so I may go into the crafting and clothing construction side for victoriana. It's a niche market but I know a lot of people that would buy and wear my stuff x

Im real lucky ehen it comes to pattern cutting i got a full set of size 12 slopers i made at college i used lingerie block for this along with ur instructions plus i got a couple of books on corset building. I did learn alot but this one was my second one i made one bout 10 years ago in my first year at college it was totally rubbish my patience threshold nd sewing skills have improved somewhat lol. Im glad i tried again i was pleasantly surprised.

Hi Kerri, thank you for the friend add. I'm so glad you used the pattern. I love what you did with it. It took ages to make the how to so it's nice to see what other people make of them. I bet you learnt a few things from doing the corset. I know I did with my first one. I never buy patterns so I have no instructions and I work out the construction as I go along. If I am going to use an expensive fabric I make a mock up in curtain lining. If you click onto my victorian corset there is a link for a back fastening flat fronted corset generator pattern. I made a few adjustments but it is a good basic pattern. Happy crafting Happy

Hi Kerri. Yep, Rigoline for light to mid weight fabrics. Damn I had forgot it's name....Lol
The metal 'boning' is the plastic coated stuff usually used for making hooped underskirts for wedding dresses. It's very heavy duty and great for leather and denim weight fabrics.

Hi Kerri. Thanks for the comment on my underbust corset how to. I use plastic boning that comes folded over to give more strength. You can use metal boning with a plastic coating. That type needs bending and then hitting with a hammer to break. You would have to cover the ends to stop the metal cutting into the fabric. The metal one is better for heavier fabrics. Hope this helps.
