Best way to do the seams is wrong sides together with a seam allowance of about 1.5cm. When you have done all the seams iron them flat facing to the back of the corset. This will give a strong base for the boning. Then trim the seam to just a bit thinner than your boning tape and stitch the tape to cover the seam. It doesn't matter about the stitching showing on the outside as you cover it with the slightly wider ribbon that you top stitch on to create the stripes. Hope this helps
