Hi Erica. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you about boning for corsets. I use Rigoline which can be bought from most haberdashers.
For heavy weight fabrics the plastic coated metal type used for making wedding dress underskirts works well but you have to break it by folding it and hitting it with a hammer.
