Hi Michael. Great to hear you're doing well with your project. Sometimes I make arm cuffs to go with my tail coats. It's just a rectangle of plain cotton fabric sewn into a tube. I make a channel at the top for elastic and add the lacey bits and ruffles to the bottom. It's a cheats way to get wrist ruffles but means you can put them over any shirt. I use my victorian jabot for the same reason. Maybe I will do a how to for the wrist ruffles ;)

cool im working with a more agree about coat this time its working out nicely. i am also working on a rococo version ( ruffles for days) your idea are grt8 thank for your inspiration and Blessed Be ;)

Hi Michael. I usually work on my kitchen table. I can't remember the last time we had a meal on it....Lol
You can leave lining attached at neck line and put a box pleat at waist to bring it in or take in the center back seam to get rid of fullness.
I usually keep the lining in so I can alter it at the same time. Sometimes if it is a total re-make then I take it out. Can't wait to see your coat.
