We head to San Francisco to meet Twinkie Chan who loves to crochet foodie-themed accessories!
Featured Member Interview
How did you find CO+K and why did you join?
It's been so long I can hardly remember! I believe that CO+K asked if I might appear in an issue of Snippets, and then I got to meet Cat and Tom at my crochet book signing in London in 2011!
What projects are you currently working on?
Right now, I'm focusing on prepping and refining patterns for some of my older projects, like strawberry scarves or gingerbread house tissue box cozies. People have been requesting them forever, and I just need to buckle down and spend some time getting them ready for my Etsy shop! I would also love to devote more time to keeping my YouTube channel updated with fresh crochet content.

What does your craft space look like?
My craft space is in my dining room right now. I have a whole wall full of yarn in bookshelves, another wall with art that I've collected, a table with my computer and printer and office-y things, and another table for shipping orders and non-crochet crafts like hot gluing stuff together. I try to keep my craft room colorful and inspiring. Sometimes it feels like there is craft-stuff exploding out of control, but I also just try to see that as a positive thing :).
Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?
Yarn and crochet hooks! Glue gun is a close runner up.
What do you craft along to?
I'm a sucker for terrible television. Right now it's Riverdale, The 100, and Dance Moms!
Twinkie's Most Popular Projects
Favorite Craft
Crocheting is definitely my go-to craft! My favorite things to make are presents for loved ones. I know that's not very specific, but, for instance, I love making "crochet paintings" for my mom of her favorite desserts, and I love making fun scarves for my bestie.

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?
I want to learn how to sew! I have a weird mental block about it, but I would love to sew my own dress one day.
Who are your crafting heroes?
Heidi Kenney from My Paper Crane has always been a huge craft hero of mine. She manages to pack so much into a day, and her plush food is so iconic.
Jenny and Aaron from Everyday Is A Holiday are so nice, and their art is so lovely and retro.
Jenny Hart from Sublime Stitching is also amazing. Not only is her embroidery gorgeous, but she was also very helpful to me once-upon-a-time, and I'll always be grateful for her kindness.
