I am a just-retired teacher rediscovering my love of fabric-crafting and frugal creativity. I'm basically cheap with the purchase of fabric and patterns, but not thread and other notions. I figured out that, for me, it's the assembly that's important. To make it look as good as possible. Years ago, I made my own wedding dress, using tailoring techniques and couture methods. It was such a compliment when I was asked where I bought it, and the surprise when I said I made it. After many years, I am re-entering this arena, finding all sorts of fun ways to use fabric bits to make beautiful things! And the internet!! When I first started sewing we didn't have the world-wide-web; now it's so much fun to connect and create and share!!! It is so cool!!!!!
