About
My name is Tamara and I am a collage and mixed media artist, as well as a photographer, and am strongly influenced by Art Nouveau (big Mucha fan) and Pre Raphaelite artists (my personal favorite is Waterhouse, but it's so hard to choose just one).
While I have a deep affinity for things from the past, like art, antiques, and Victorian houses (I even live in one --an old farmhouse with a few unique architectural details), I also follow current trends and try to combine the old and the new whenever possible.
My latest venture has taken me into the world of recycling. I like to joke that I'm the Queen of Everything (something borrowed from Mary Englebreit), but I'm now the self appointed Queen of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle). I've begun a number of projects that repurpose items from thrift shops or that use recycled materials in the projects.
I'm having way too much fun (is there really such a thing) incorporating orphaned vintage jewelry into new jewelry items, turning old scratched unplayable records into new works of art, and making jewelry from recycled bottle caps, aluminum pop can pull tabs or recycled plastic bottles. I will be listing many of these items soon. Take a look through my shop to see the latest venture I've undertaken. You never know what I'll do next.........
