hi again, this is mayby a better answer:
when you lay the mitten in the microweave, you set next to them a cup of water. the mittens are not in the water, only laying a side. problems with finding the right words, sorry its not my first langues so i must write more words to explain, but i think this will do.;-D

Hi Grace, i have put the answer too on the project self, but its handy for you to give you the answer on your profile to, :no not with water, you must set a half cup of water in the microweave when you will heat the pillows in there. It isn't necessary but it keeps the heating pillows much longer useable. I have a heating pillow used for a year without the cup or water, and he is not working longer, because the rices is dry out. Thats why. But heating must you do with the microweave. I hope that this is your answer, thanks for asking. I hope you understand what i'm trying to tell, if else let me know. much greetings jet
