I was born and have lived most of my life in central Minnesota. I have been married to my best friend Tom since 1975, we have two children and 5 Grandchildren (3 Granddaughters, 2 grandson and one the way).
While I excelled in math and science I loved art classes but never felt I possessed the ability to be creative. I believed drawing was the “only” art form and since I could barely draw a stick figure my hope for an artistic future was dismissed. After graduating from high school I went on to become a nurse. When we had children, I choose to stay home and be a full time wife and mother. Once the children were older I went back to work in the eye care field.
It wasn’t until 1997 that I discovered a “ready made” art form. Wooden stamps, with their varied sizes and shapes. I never considered myself “crafty” but when I stamped my first card at a Stampin’ Up! Workshop I was hooked. Stamping soon became a passion and I joined Stampin’ Up! as a Demonstrator in 1998.
I have had a successful Stampin’ Up! Business since 1998. I feel blessed to have spent the past years having my work and creativity one in the same! I believe everyone has the ability to be creative they just have to find what they are passionate about. For some it is material and thread, for some it is in the kitchen creating wonderful dishes, for others it could be wood. Just keep trying out different crafts until you find your passion.
