WELCOME!
My name is Marta Spendowska.
Some people call me SKA due to my complicated Polish last name, but my artistic nickname is Rawvolta.
I was born In Poland in a small town between Russian soldiers, poets and revolutionary people. No wonder I became an artist.
I came to US five years ago - all by plane and legally ;-).
Today I am living and working from a cute house in Green Bay, US.
WHY ART ?
It seems like I never grew up, although I am a woman who loves high heels and kohl on the eyes. Blue and Red are my favorites.
I always wanted to study art, but Poland was troubled by politic/economic crisis through all my young ages. I would get aristocratic grapes and bananas from East Germany twice a year.
But pencils were always at my home so I could draw portraits from old calendars featuring people.
Luckily I was blessed with a lifelong admirer - my father who was patiently rating my childlish portraits.
Somehow I have had only exceptional grades : As with exclamations ! ;-)
My art is an outcome of my self-tough explorations.
In Poland I gained my Masters in Personal Management and I studied Journalism as well.
Art was waiting … for more affordable times.
US ( you can agree or not ) is a dream country - I can paint here as much as I want and this year I am hoping to make my degree in Graphic Design.
Feist sings when I draw.
Sun shines through my two windows in my Green Bay house.
I love to smell like oranges.
I make my own kim-chi, I hunt in woods for wild medicinal mushrooms and I can stand on my hands for a long time.
I paint, I make marks.
