This portrait of me was painted by a dear student, Ashton Meadows, as her final exam piece. Topic: "My Hero." She chose me. I am touched more than I could ever express. It doesn't make leaving any less awful. It does show me my efforts matter.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach Religion/ Theology for 17 years. I have very unexpectedly found myself with that part of my identity stripped away. Now I am coming to terms with my "new reality" and wondering what that will bring.
