About
"Cause I define myself and find my beauty in the light He gives...I'm refined by His divine intentions everyday I live...doesn't matter what the World believes, or what they say that beauty means. It comes from within; I want to be beautiful to Him"
A word to describe me: unconventional. Also: artist.
Home-schooled. Raised in the country, not the 'burbs. Born on the East Coast. Harpist. SVU Knight.
You could say I march to the beat of my own drum, or at least like being different, but in a cool way. I love listening to NPR and reading the newspaper as much as I love listening to 90's pop music and reading children's lit. I didn't even suck my thumb like most toddlers. I went for the two middle fingers. I taught myself to play piano and write with both hands, just because I could (handy skills too.)
I'm as comfortable with power tools, lawn-mower, and computer soft-ware as I am with needles and thread and a curling iron. I love Jane Austen as much as I love Star Wars. I'm a girly-girl and "one of the guys." I like being well-rounded.
Yes, I am a musician, but call myself an artist because I love to create and music is just one way of expressing my art.
I'm a traveler, teacher in the making, and striving to be the best leader-servant I can be. I love dressing up and putting on my professional self as much as I love psyching out total strangers (when in the appropriate setting.)
I am not fond of the excessive use of exclamation points, TV, fingerprints left everywhere, complainers, and people who are not willing to learn and seize the day. I also frown upon video games and the like, though I do enjoy a good round of card/board games with friends.
I tend to surround myself with smart people. (hint, hint.) Who are also humble, talented, spiritual, positive, and know how to take compliments. The only flakes I prefer to deal with are the frosted ones I eat, not friends.
Strengths: tenacity (I learn a lot by trial and error), extroverted, empathetic (hey, I used to be the ugly duckling), trusting to a fault, look for the good in everyone (maybe to a fault too.)
Weaknesses: don't let me intimidate you because I know I am assertive and want to be smart and learn; patience (specially with people who should KNOW better), control (yes, I'm detailed oriented, a neat freak, organized, and one of those people who orders their closet by clothes types, but those are not problems. Trying to make perfect situations with certain people is a problem.)
I have been know to actually be spontaneous and devious.
Fact: I used to be painfully shy and had a phone phobia. "Yeah, right!", you say, but it was bad....
Fact: I am double-jointed and I can wag my ears. Any other odd traits will only be revealed when you pass the best friends test.
Fact: I have been known to say funny or witty things with such dramatic emphasis that people think I'm quoting something. But I'm not.
Fact: I have been known to eerily guess the weight of a suitcase without a scale.
Fact: I can tell you all sorts of things about lots of movies, including the reviews and popular quotes...but have never even seen those movies.
Fact: I have been known to carry on a two-person conversation, with me supplying the other person's dialogue entirely. Apparently it's entertaining. Almost as entertaining as me on very little sleep, which can induce me to say intriguing things.
Fact: I have been known to have psychic moments.
My personal mottos and philosophies:
"It's a great big world out there!"
Keep up with me!
This life is too short to sit back and watch TV.
Carpe Diem!
It's a great day to be a Knight!
Do or do not. There is no try.
