When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?

I was probably about 6 years old and I learned to make apple pie. We have a small apple orchard at my family home where I grew up and apple pie was a fall staple!

What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?

My kitchen is very small! So, I tend to use every surface I have when preparing food - the kitchen counter, dining room table and even living room coffee table are all fair game when I'm cooking for friends! The small space forces me to tidy as I go and I try to put ingredients away as soon as I am done with them and clean dishes once I'm finished using them.

What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?

Start with an easy recipe that you already know and try giving it your own little twist. A few weeks ago I did gourmet grilled cheese recipes on my blog. It was so simple because grilled cheese is one of the easiest things to make, and I just tried adding different things to them to make them special. Soon enough you will start realizing what works well together and what tastes you like to combine!

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?

This is a tricky question! I'm super close with my family so I think I would have all of them (my siblings & significant others, and my parents) there to start. Then I would have each of them choose one person to invite. It would be an interesting combination because we are all different in age and interests. I'd make lunch. Sandwiches are my forte so I would do a custom sandwich for each guest and serve the sandwiches with a few big salads. After lunch, I'd set out a variety of desserts and drinks at various tables around the house that we could enjoy all afternoon while we chat all together or off in smaller groups. As for my one special guest? I think it would be Bill Cunningham.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

Floral design! My blog touches on that as well. I've always loved flowers and especially how they can augment the decor and design of a dinner party or event. Dressing a table to go with a meal is one of my favourite creative activities.

Which cooking blogs do you love to read?

When it comes to blogs, I am a fashion blog enthusiast, so I tend to mostly read those. For cooking and recipes though Pinterest is my go-to spot! You can get lost for hours in all the recipes!

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

Thank you for having me as your Cooking Superstar! I hope you enjoy my recipes.
