When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
I was taught to knit in 2002 by one of my high school teachers - we had after school knit nights and it was a total blast! I also learned to crochet in 2002 and was taught by a friend.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
Yes! I made this gigantic colorwork shawl that I still have and keep on the back of my couch.
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
The first time I ever even noticed that knitwear design was a real thing was when I was given a copy of Stefanie Japel’s Fitted Knits, and it’s still one of my favorite pattern books ever. I instantly love every new thing Cirilia Rose, Jane Richmond, and Maria Leigh come out with, always.
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
I’m a sweater knitter! If I don’t have a sweater on my needles then I’m not as happy as I could be. I’ve got a bunch of go to favorite sweaters, but since we are coming up to summer I’m going to pick my color blocked version of my Lace Striped Sweater pattern.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I’m a HUGE fan of watching a ton of episodes of a TV show while knitting and crocheting! The trashier the better. I’m really into The Vampire Diaries, Greek, Parks & Rec, and have just started watching The West Wing on Netflix.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
Yes! I love embroidery, and am launching an embroidery pattern site in the next couple months.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Thanks so much for inviting me to participate in this fun project!
