When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?

Oh my, I really don't remember exactly when I started but I do remember my beautiful mother's skilled hands guided me all through my early sewing adventures.

Can you remember the first thing you made?

I'm pretty sure it was a lopsided yellow pillow I made to match the lime green shag carpet I had in my bedroom. Yes, I did say lime green shag carpet. I had the coolest room in the neighborhood.

Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?

I really enjoy Corinne Leigh from Craftovision and Threadbangers. She is so cute and enthusiastic. I'd love to hang out with her.

What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?

What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?

I love Celtic music and I enjoy listening to Joel Osteen speak while I sew. He is so motivating and uplifting.

Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?

As long as I can remember, I've loved to create. Refinishing furniture, pottery, scrapbooking, card making, DIY decorating, sewing, you name it, when I'm in the midst of making something, all is right with the world. But I have to say, refashioning and sewing is by far my favorite thing to do.

Is there anything else you'd like to add?

I just recently announced that Stash Books accepted my book proposal. I'm currently working on a book with them that will be released in October 2014. I also hope you'll come visit me on my blog, The Renegade Seamstress.
