What are your hobbies?
I try to make a long walk every day. Crafting and being on computer sometimes causes back pain and walking is cheap way to prevent that kind of problems. Being in the nature and just wandering around is also a great source of inspiration and I usually come up with new creative solutions to my crafting problems.
Reading is another dear hobby of mine. I read all from novels to non fiction. I have a project to read more classics and that way I have found many great authors.
What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?
I love all kinds of DIY projects and quilting. Especially I like to do makeovers for old furniture. It is fun to sand, modify and paint furniture and create totally different look for a piece someone has abandoned. I see potential in things that some people think as garbage. My philosophy is to use as much recycled material as possible because world has enough stuff already. My whole apartment is my craft and creative space. When sewing a quilt blanket the living room floor can be covered in fabric for months. For furniture projects I use downstairs common hobby room.
What do you craft along to?
Most often I listen to radio and choose classical music. When sanding or painting it is difficult to have other activities than radio going on background. When quilting I sometimes listen to history and science documents. During the wintertime I might knit or crochet and watch TV.
What was the first project you ever made?
My first crafting memory is when I was about four years old. I remember learning how to crochet but I am not sure what I was making, probably just chain stitches. It was also about that age when I first went to children's crafting school and there we made magic cloaks and doll houses.
Then at primary school I remember trying to crochet square potholder that turned into blue guinea pig because it started to take cup form at some point.
What are your favorite items to make?
Furniture makeovers, small home decor details and quilted blankets.
Which other craft blogs do you love to read?
The Gathered Home, DIY in PDX and Casa Watkins Living, just to mention few. There are so many great craft and DIY bloggers!
