When did you first start sewing and how did you learn?
My Mum taught me to sew when I was pretty young, maybe 8 years old. She taught me to embroider, crochet and knit as well, and my Grandma taught me macrame. Mum sewed a lot so I'm sure I learnt lots of things just by watching.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
I embroidered doilies for my dressing table, but the first thing I sewed on a machine would have been a pencil case I think.
Do you have any favourite pattern designers or celebrity sewers?
I love the fabric designs of Riley Blake and Tula Pink and all the quilting precuts by Moda. With so many tutorials online I don't buy a lot of patterns.
What's your sewing room like and how do you organize your stash?
I love Stitched in Color and CraftGossip. If I need quilt inspiration I always head to the Moda Bakeshop. I realise that I read more craft blogs than sewing blogs!
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I often listen to blogging podcasts while I sew like Amy Porterfield and CraftyPod. But I also listen Ted Talks, and my latest music download is Claire Bowditch - amazing voice and beautiful lady!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I crochet a lot recently and enjoy crafting with my kids. My craft room includes everything from beads to scrapbooking supplies - its kinda scary!
