What are your hobbies?
I am not sure my life exists outside of creating. Hang on.. yes. Camping! and traveling... hiking and exploring. I also read tarot cards, and I'm learning to read palms. I also have a collection of skulls and bones, and I collect spooky clown dolls and vintage gum ball machines.
What are your favorite crafts and what's your craft space like?
I like to do a bit of everything! My favorite is painting, and drawing, but sometimes I need a break even from that! I love to sew, and cook. I also love to just make things in general. I love to find use in old things, or make random objects into something useful. I love photography, fashion design and graphic design. Once I made a paper crane, I even like to sculpt.
What do you craft along to?
I'm not a huge fan of watching TV. But, I do enjoy having some noise on while I work. I enjoy educational shows, documentaries, and ancient aliens. I'm so glad netflix has a huge documentary section!
What was the first project you ever made?
The first thing I ever made was a little purse. My mom taught me the basics to sewing, and I sewed up a little purse. The first thing I remember making as an adult was a hat. I was in a terrible relationship, and I learned how to knit. I remember having a very empowered feeling. I made something. If I was ever cold, I could make a hat! It was the greatest feeling.. and it led to more great feelings. It led to me making and selling enough hats to rent a car, and get myself out of a bad relationship. I really do owe it all to learning to make things!
What are your favorite items to make?
Painting has always been a true love of mine. My walls are filled from ceiling to floor with my work, and it all keeps growing. It's a good thing my boyfriend likes my stuff! (And yes, this is a good relationship!) I have sketchbooks filled with sketches, and a few books coming out with my illustrations.
Which other craft blogs do you love to read?
I've always like http://www.rufflesandstuff.com/ and colormekatie.com
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Don't stop creating. If you are ever feeling depressed, or worthless.. get a hobby. Create and share it with others. Creating will give meaning to your life. If you don't think you have talent, find one. Please create.. it helps depression. Oh, and get a dog. That helps too.
