When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
I learnt to crochet a granny square when I was 10 when Mum & I made a blanket for my new baby sister. Then I didn't touch it for a lot of years. I re-learnt via a crochet along run by a craft chain store. I loved that so much I ran my own year long cal where I learnt even more.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
The baby blanket for my baby sister - navy blue and green granny squares.
Who are your favourite pattern designers and celebrity knitters & crocheters?
I love pattern designers who think outside the square. Shan Sevcik is one such designer. Her work is amazing.
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
I love to make squares for blankets. One of the favourite things I have made was for my baby sister (who's very much not a baby anymore). It was a large blanket made up of squares of various sizes and patterns but all in the one colour of cotton.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
I like to listen to the radio or my music on random shuffle, but usually I am listening to the tv that's burbling away being watched by the family and don't really take much notice of it.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I've recently started to teach myself how to knit in between my crochet obsession. I've been an embroiderer for a long time and used to make felt pincushions (which explains my website name).
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I mostly hang out on Instagram - I am Spincushions there too. I share my wip's, designing process and crafty fun most days.
