When did you first start knitting / crocheting and where did you learn?
i started knitting in 2005 after stumbling across ravelry and seeing all the really cool projects. i just thought, "hey, i want to do that." no one around me knew how to knit. so i borrowed some books from my local library and watched a couple of youtube videos. i started off with a lot of free patterns. after a bit, i decided that i didn't really need patterns to make what i wanted. and the rest is history.
Can you remember the first thing you made?
a garter stitch scarf for my mom in some cheapo yarn i bought at wal-mart! she loved it but it was really wobbly. then i made an ill fitting sweater. but i got a lot better after that. it was all a great learning experience.

oh... veera valimaki (everything), jared flood (everything), anke (contiguous sweaters)
What are your favourite things to stitch and do you have a favorite item you've made?
i love making shawls. lots of mindless knitting. my favorite thing i have made is my juntos loop scarf. i wear it every day.
What music/podcasts/TV shows do you love to stitch along to?
the food network, especially chopped. the history channel, swamp people, ax men, and vikings. and discovery channel, fast and loud and yukon men. yeah i know dork!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
i have a lot of crafty likes : i hand stitch my own clothes. i just started selling some of my hand stitching. i also just started designing stencils. i love to draw. i sew (with a machine) on occasion. i love learning to make new things!
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
i really love sharing what i make and how i make it on my blog. the online community has really opened my eyes to the world of craft. when i was younger i never thought of crafting as a job possibility. but now i hope to make it a larger part of my life.
