When did you first get in to cooking and do you remember the first recipe you tried?
My parents are huge foodies, some of my very first memories are sitting at the counter watching my parents cook. I still do the same thing today, it's really how I learned.
I can't say I remember the first recipe, but it was probably something incredibly sweet and gooey.
What's your kitchen like and how do you keep organized when cooking?
I have a Harry Potter kitchen! For real! It's under the stairs. It's tiny, and when I first moved in I had to make it decent so I bought some industrial work benches, and put a wooden top on them to make an island to give myself a bit more room.
I swear I must be super good at Tetris by now as I can fit any amount of food into my tiny fridge and cupboards.
What tips would you give to someone wanting to become a better cook?
Buy a good knife. I would hate cooking too if I used some of the knives I have come across in other peoples kitchens. You really only need one good chefs knife. Keep it sharp and you are gonna be a great cook in no time!
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party and what would you cook for them?
Probably comedians, because it would be funny. I love having big dinner parties full of laughter. I would serve them a vegan meal so good they wouldn't even know what hit them, and lots of wine!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I'm an artist so I am always creating something. I love doodling, painting portraits, and making my house prettier (which means using chalkboard paint everywhere).
Which cooking blogs do you love to read?
Oh so many. Thug Kitchen, Pinch of Yum, Beard + Bonnet, Oh My Veggies, The Sexy Vegan, Edgy Veg, The Vegan Stoner, and Veggieful.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
My goal at It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken, is to introduce the beauty of the vegan diet. To show you how eating vegan benefits your mind, body, soul and taste buds.
Follow me as over the year I am aiming to complete the 1/100/100 challenge! 1 year, 100 unique ingredient, 100 recipes to prove once and for all that the vegan diet is anything but limiting.
Lots of Love!
Sam
