Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
Our home is a constant work in progress, with plenty of heirloom furniture and hand-me-downs that we are making "ours". We love cool blues with pops of coral, green, yellow, and pink. I love that we are working on our home within our budget and learning new skills in order to make our money go further. For example, I've learned a lot about sewing so that I can make all of our throw pillows, drapes, and tablecloths.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
I refinished a nightstand for our guest bedroom. It started life as a beat-up, totally trashed kitchen cupboard! I removed the door, painted the inside sky blue, painted the outside white (after removing years' worth of gunk and duct tape), and painted the metal top white. I lined the drawer with a pretty floral-and-bird paper, and replaced the drawer's hardware. I still get compliments on it!

Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
No, but if you do I'd love to hear 'em! No, seriously, my home is always at least a little messy. I've recently discovered the power of vinegar for quick-cleaning the shower, though. And we're trying to stay tidier by just closing drawers and doors, and putting things away promptly. It's a losing battle, though.
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
Ooooh good question! I'd probably choose Sam Heughan from "Outlander". But that's mostly because I'd like to meet Sam Heughan. Okay, real answer: Kate Middleton, of course! She's a duchess who lives in a palace. I bet her place looks fabulous!
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
Magically refinished floors, a formal dining room, and a really awesome tufted sofa!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love to sew (I'm working on a Lagertha costume from the TV show "Vikings" - I'm a nerd), I love to sing (solo and in choirs) and play the violin (I'm a music teacher by day), and I love inventing new recipes!
