Tell us a bit about your home and what you love about it the most?
We built our home a year and a half ago and absolutely love it! We have a fairly open floor plan that works well for us and our young kids. My favorite part is the open kitchen and living area. You can find us there 90% of the time. Bit by bit we're putting our stamp on it and making more lived in.
What was the first DIY project you did to your home or first thing you made for it?
Oh gosh, let me think way back to my first place when I left my parent's house. I had made some black curtains out of sheets with grosgrain ribbon tab tops. Kind of funny seeing as how I am now much older, my style has evolved so much, and yet I still have curtains as sheets in my house :D
Do you have any tips for staying tidy & organised?
LOL! Ummmm... don't have kids :D Ok, seriously. Don't toss something to the side and tell yourself you'll put it away later. Several days or weeks later it will more than likely still be there. Take the time to put things away properly. I say this, but often time fail to do it myself. However, when I make time for it my life is so much easier. "Where are my KEYS?!?!?!"
If you could tour any celebrities home, who would it be?
Diane Keaton. I follow her on Pinterest and am always intrigued by her pins. I wonder how those would translate into her home's decor. Luckily for me I recently saw photos of her home. It doesn't disappoint!
If you had three wishes, what changes would you make to your home?
Only three??? 1) I'd have a housekeeper. Nothing is more beautiful to me than a clean home. 2) I'd hire an interior designer to tackle our dining room. I don't know why, but it completely stumps me. 3) Finally I would have our back yard professionally landscaped. We need privacy badly since the homes are so close together and we need something beautiful to look out at. And I would have this final wish come with a gardener to maintain it all.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
My hobbies are working on DIY's around the house, decorating, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. I also started in on a cross stitch project for my daughter's room that mess with off and on. So far it has taken me a year and I'm still not done!
