Have you always been creative and what’s the earliest work you can remember creating?
I think so. I remember working on this one pencil drawing when I was young. It was a drawing of a forest with lots of animals. I remember working very hard trying to get the rabbits legs, 'just' right.
What's your studio like and how do you keep organised?
My studio is actually our dinning room but we never used it for eating so I took it over. Its a bit small but I like it. I have the walls covered with artwork (from artists I've purchased from online and local conventions), thrifted art, photography, vinyl toys and just anything that inspires me! It's a pretty colourful room.
Where do you look for inspiration?
I watch a lot of movies and TV shows, so there's that... I'm also inspired by my dreams, fashion, music videos and sometimes by people watching. I also surf the internet a lot.
Whats in your pencil case / camera bag?
I actually don't have much in my pencil case... I like using colour erase pencils for my sketches and a harsh/hard pencil (or ink pen) for my outlines. And a generic white erase because the pink ones suck.
Any tips for someone suffering from creative block?
Go for a walk. Hang out with an old friend. Look through old photos. Look back at your old artwork.
But sometimes you just need a break from creating so just let it happen and when you're ready to start working... you will.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I really enjoy sewing! I've been making hair bows and headbands for the last few years to sell at conventions. But I recently started making my own clothing. Just some skirts and dresses to start. Nothing crazy but It's fun.
