Have you always been creative and what’s the earliest work you can remember creating?
Yes I have always created something. My earliest memory is of my great-grandmother teaching me to knit. I guess I was around 4 yrs old.
What's your studio like and how do you keep organised?
I work in organized chaos, it looks like a tornado blew through, but I know where everything is. I like to have my most used products to hand, so they are on my desk in small drawers.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Everywhere. On blogs, in shops, in my friends homes, out in nature and in old books. When I design stamps I first look to nature, however my stamp designs are not true to nature, I like to add my own twist to them.
Whats in your pencil case / camera bag?
In my pencil case are Derwent pencils ranging from 2B to 9B, a battery operated eraser and refills, a rule, some Stabilo all pencils, posca pens, white gelly roll pen, brush, metal pencil sharpener. Lamy pen and ink cartridges.
Any tips for someone suffering from creative block?
Get together with friends, the spark that is created between creative people is fantastic. Whenever I lose my mojo I only have to hang out with creative friends and I am inspired to make something.
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
my hobbies are my craft and my work. I have tried most things, drawing, painting, sculpting, knitting, embroidery, making bags, hats and home furnishings. I also love photography and baking As a mixed media artist I am able to use all these in many of my projects.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Yes you are good enough!
