Well sweetheart I do Pyro-engrave and have won ribbons all over the country.. I totally love your bracelet you may have given a fast tuteral but it was very precise and to the point.. I too use water color it shows the grain . My choice of medium is Gourds but I do work with wood too..
You did a wonderful job , I do hope you continue in this venue I can see you going far ! !
It's a tool that has a metal tip that gets really hot and sorta 'burns' the wood. I mean, there are no flames or anything. I got two of mine from hobby lobby, one from walmart, and the other I've had for so long I'm not sure where it came from. I just really have craft irons, but there are professional woodburning pens. I don't know where to get those.
(Isn't Kenshin awesome?! I love bipolar swordsmen! Those are my favorite anime ^_^)
Well, I didn't really carve. The point's hot enough and the wood's soft enough you just kinda touch the point to the wood. For the really tiny ares I used a really tiny point tip on one of the burners that doesn't get as hot. I had to press more while doing that. I did woodburn some pretty hard heart wood awhile ago, and that was more like carving! Wow, and the smell @_@ The resin in the pine smelled so good when it was being burned!!
